Song mode question.....

whats up all?...my question is this....after creating a sequence in "sequence mode" can i, in "song mode" take that sequence insert them in position and turn tracks on and off?...for instance to create an intro and breaKdowns and such?....i hope someone understands what im sayin...thanks...............P

1. create several copies of that original sequence.
2. edit each copy to however you want it to sound w/ all the tracks mute or whatever else.
3. go into song mode and tie all of those sequences together in whatever you want them to playback in, along with however many repetitions of each sequence you want played..

Also avoid using track mute: it may act strange when you use the song to sequence function.

cool thanks yall.....yeah i made a bunch of sequences the deleted out out parts....everything work out fine....,however.....i was wondering if its possible to to sound out the last measure in a four bar phrase without having to chage from four bars....i hope you know what im tryin to say

thats what I always did but, I always wondered if there was an easier way.

xl manual pg 135 shows how to record mixer changes..

also another thing to note.. is.. i was always converting my sequences to songs and they were never turning out correct.. either the mutes were mucking up or.. i had major poblems with the volumes of certain tracks that i had adjusted..

someone on here pointed out the fact that while in song mood you can just press play and listen to the song from there.. (i didnt think of pressing play in there.. i was always converting)

all the mutes and volumes in song mode work fine for me..

so yeah if using song mode.. never convert.. (unless its a simple few seq's with no changes).. but if u dont have to convert.. just listen while your in there..

Yep, song mode is for chain seq's together for a complete song or like you said......

There it is. I don't think alot of people got their head wrapped around song mode yet. Some don't understand the concept of building up several seq's first, getting those break seq's and mute going good first, THEN build that chain of seq's in song mode..

I remember a thread a while back where someone was trying to use song mode as a seq..

Yeah i think that might have been my thread started a while back where i had problems with song mode and i learnt some really good things about it.

sorted me right out..

It was elmacaco who put me straight about using song mode..
