Every time I read all these posts, it seriously deters me from considering a 2500. I don't think you'll be too happy with the 4000 either. There's still quite alot of ongoing issues with that machine as well. Read up in the 4000 forum and you'll see what I mean.

Yeah one Eviler than the next....I just pressed play after loading a Seq and all that came out was white noise yes just white noise. I think this thing is F#^&ked...UP

damn... that's seriously fukked up. if re-installing the new OS doesnt help (I'm not sure if you've done that, since I havent kept up with your posts), then it sounds like you got a defective unit or posibly defective ram. Go through the process of elimination and see if anything changes.

Restarted the unit and loaded the same stuff fine.

I got the exact same occurence today..tried to load a pgm pressed play & got sustained white noise. Powered off re-tried...then fine.

I suggest taking that bullshit back to the store and get yourself an MPC 3000. 12 years and counting, not one crash 8) 8)

I went and ordered a new 2000xl from guitar center. The dude told me they only had 2 in stock in another store and that they won't be getting anymore from Akai they seem to be discontinued but he wasn't 100% sure that's why.
