I dont know if this is how to answer this question, but you should lay your samples down on a track in a sequence, then switch to another track, hit the pads of the drums and record....am I missing something?

how are you chopping it? your turning the wheel? If you chop the sample then it puts you on the trim screen of the sound you just chopped, not the original sample. If you chop it so it makes a new program than the new program will be in the programs section and the sounds will be all together if you just search while in the trim screen. Just turn the wheel and look for it under whatever it's named...peace.

Because when you slice the sounds you set the MPC to create a new program for those sounds?
