Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Hmmm...

Two scenarios where my MPC occasionally crashes.

1) In song mode when the end of the song is reached it sometime either locks-up or goes to what looks like a tech-support screen.

2) Not sure what the combination of key pressing from the main screen is but when it happens the MPC goes into that tech-support looking screen.

Is there anyway out of all that hex when it comes up or do I have to switch off. The screen has it's own menu and stuff but there doesn't seem to be a way to exit it.

yup on the v rare occasion mine crashes i get that screen- its after a quick succession of key presses..but dont know which- all i know is that i sometimes fudge the buttons and end up with that- doesn't happen enough for me to be a problem.....my pc crashes far more easily...

The Song mode crash is far more worrying. It seems to happen at the very end, when the song stops.
Has happened twice in a couple of months.

Thats crappy though cuz I press stuff really quick and it does it alot to me! I am getting tired of akai treating the 2kxl's and belows as if they wrote the machines off or something! Then we are forced to form a bunch of under ground web unions to try to fix their f-ups!!! THEY NEED TO MAKE MORE UPDATED UPGRADES, PERIOD!!!! I have just lost alot of good music just cuz I press padz fast! I MEAN WHAT YEAR ARE WE IN?!!!!!!

ANGRY,
TRUNX :x

maybe there is a more serious problem with yours as mine has crashed v rarely since ive had it and im a fast presser too....the times it has crashed is when i have been confusing it but as i say its rare......

If you have upgraded your RAM, that may possibly be causing the errors (RAM is corrupting data and causing a crash).

Try reseatting your RAM.

Switching/Reversing the slots in which they sit in.

Reloading your OS..

Since I went to 1.14 (XL latest) a while back I've had no problems..

1.72 is latest for 2k
