it might be more durable, yes - as it would have more glue covering more surface area.

so its a better idea to do that cuz ima do that when my pads go dead.

hi!

just bought an mpc1000bk two weeks ago.

but now my pad2 starts hitting whenever it wants, it's fully responsive but just i leave the mpc on and it just hits some times, i just got really bored of this.

1. is this happening from the same original bad glue?

2. should i take it back where the service will mess around with it or should i just fix it as told by nym?

ps off: i had an yamaha su700 but the mpc1000 just beats it in one second! i love it

if it's really new, try to swap it for a new one. that one probably has been used before.

i'd only really suggest doing my method if you're either comfortable with what you're doing or if you're over warranty.

the problem is that i have to be affriad of pads going wrong on live jam maybe after the nym upgrade i wont have to fear anymore...

can someone pls describe how to take of the rubber pads separetly?

anyone know a name of a product and/or manufacturer, or a hardware store to get this stuff, or can we only order online?

to the guy asking about teh rubber pads, I just re-did mine and again all I did was carefully with a butter knife flex the [black] frame that hold the rubber pad in place up and pull the pad free, once out I then glued the carbon strip directly to the underside of the pad with a basic glue stick [as I found super glues won't hold the carbon directly to teh rubber pad underside]

works great again, definately go with this method....now I gotta fix teh "UP" cursor button...damm this machine is killing me!

you need to be more specific. i'm not sure whether you're asking about the silicone or the graphite/carbon. also, where are you located?

i'm not sure what's good with that. there's some links posted in this thread, but i havent looked into it any further since i didn't need to replace it. all i needed was to replace the glue.

so far, it's been 3 weeks since i reglued my pads using the silicone i mentioned in an earlier post. i havent had any problems at all.

what type of silicone should people be using?

how about glue? what if i want to mimic what akai did, put 4 dots of glue in the corners to avoid any glue on the sensors. what kind of glue would i use?
