PT-01 Thread

does anyone do any backspins with this?..i've had mine for a while and never dared to do it since the tone arm feels so fragile.

I found the PT-01 to be very robust. I wouldn't worry about scratching and backspinning. I think it's built more rugged than a lot of DJ turntables.

soap and water

I guess, rubbing alcohol would be fine.

How do I clean it?

basically you just want to get the dust from the record off the tip of the needle. I use a little brush that came with my cartridge. I guess you could use a soft cloth or maybe a q-tip or something.

I had times when my records sounded like shit, and the needle wasn't tracking the grooves well. Just turned out I needed to clean the dust off my needle more regularly, and also brush of my records before playing them.

Click on that link. The smaller brush with the red handle is what you would use to clean your needle (stylus), and the other one that looks like a chalk board brush is used to clean off dust from your vinyl.

Its the Ion version of the PT-01. The guy wanted to make a ghetto QFO with a crossfader that he can click.

Anyhow, this table is awesome. Backspins and such should be fine. For a belt, it is prtty strong.

What? I scratch and **** with it all the time, its really well built. Not close to my tech 1200, but its a good portable turntable that you can cue with.

U guys are nuts. Just give it time... u will see. Belt drive tables are not built for scratching a backspins.

I see what your saying Jacpot, but the odd scratch or back cueing isn't going to hurt. I scratch and back cue every so often, so for me this thing is plenty strong. However for those planning to go A-Trak on it...get a Technics or something.
