Hi folks,
I have just ordered my AKAI MPC1000 and soon after I find myself here at this wicked resource that has made me happy with my purchase already!!!!!
I have been readin the stickies about upgrading the RAM and installing Harddrive etc. My mates laptop has just died and he's cuttin his losses and selling the parts which is great news for me as its got a nice wee 40gig toshiba harddrive which'd be sweet inside my akai as I have a huge library of samples to put on there!
My quandry lies in the fact that his OS and files are all on the harddrive and I have no way of gettin in there to clear it off b4 I put it in the MPC. Is this gonna cause me trouble when I put it into the akai??? Or can I just plug the akai into my PC and access the harddrive and its contents from there without meddin up my mpc?
Anyways hope you can help!
p.s. Really lookin forward to learnin from ye about how to get the best outta my MPC cheers (sweet site!)
