Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

I brought a brand new pny 2gig compact flash. when I format it there was no partition section and after it only read 1048.2m. that's only half of what it should read. I have a similar problem with the scsi hard drive I have installed. No partition after formatting and only reads part of the memory. There's only "Root" . Any body know what could be wrong. If I pay for two gigs I want two. If I pay for a 4gig HD I want 4 not 888.6m

Upgrade your operating system to 1.2 . This will allow for your card to be properly read.

I'm running 1.2 that's why I dont understand it. With 1.2 should'nt I be able to read the whole 2Gigs?

At OS. 1.7 it recognizes 2 GB jaz drives, so it should be able to handle that amount of space as well.

Well I found the problem. O.S 1.2 does'nt partition. when I down graded to 1.14 I was able to partition th CF card into three parts A-C and the scsi HD into five A-E. So I hope this helps someone else who might run into this.

can those partitions be re-formatted once the Os has been upgraded back to 1.2, i have a 1gb SD card and my mpc only sees 550mb of it. can i quickyl downgrade the OS partition and then upgrade it, cause i beleive formatting with 1.2 makes the Memory cards readable in windows.

I forgot to ask you this: Can you partition a 2Gig card so it's fully usable under os 1.14 ?

When I formatted the drives and went back to 1.2 the partitions still existed. I had such a hard time that if needed I just deleted the info under the part so not to risk formatting again and loosing the partitions. But it would be good to beable to read the info on pc so before I get in to deep i wil try to reformat under 1.2 . But I'm guessing thats a glitch but I hope not cause it would be bad if yo could'nt read the card on the pc. But yes you can access the whole 2 gigs under 1.14. but once you format under 1.14 you can go back to 1.2 and it's still there

Yes you wont have one big drive but the partitions add up to every bit of the total drive memory. and you can even utilize the parts for organizing
