midi A1-A16 only transmits on a single channels

the only way i have been able to get some result is to change tracks and set to channel number of choice but i would like to be able to record all channel and playback on one track??

Thanks.

If im understanding u correctly u want to record all your instruments on one track? If so that is totally impossible or beyond my knowledge. You can only assign one MIDI channel per track and when u change it then the instrument changes. Explain more what u want to do or either someone else may know.

I dont understand why you'd want it all on one track? It's a lot less flexible that way, but you cant do it anyway.

Maybe i read it wrong.
but the manual suggested no channel need be selected, thus it records all channels.
Also in the midi configuration menu there is an option to recieve all channels, suggesting the same.
Now most sequencers dont care about which track you record on because the transmission of midi channels take care of where everything goes.

Why would i want to record on a single track?
so i would have to spend less time selecting tracks when recording live from an external keyboard/sound module.

It now seems pretty primative that the mpc does not allow this and requires the user to specify a midi channel when the midi channel has already been providing by the midi information from the keyboard.
