ZIP DRIVE QUESTION

I have an external Iomega Zip 250MB SCSI Zip Drive. When I try to load the files onto my MPC 2000XL I get question marks, Type= ??. What does this mean? I tried changing the numbers on the Zip Drive from 5 to 6 and from 6 to 5, nothing seems to be working. Can some one help me out here?

I also have a Iomega Zip 250 and a Zip 100 drive.
The 250 doesn´t work with my XL, the 100 does.
I don´t know why, both drives works well with my other samplers.

I heard that Iomega Zip drives differ from unit to unit because the operation software of the drives get actualized continuously during the production of the units, so it´s not easy to get a drive that works with the MPC.

I figured out what my problem was. I had too many characters in the name of my files, so that's why I got all the 's. You can't have anymore than 8 characters.
