Just an idea for a useful feature that Akai might want to think about (it's probably in there and i've just missed it). How about a feature where you can set one pad to trigger another? It would be an easier way of recording the same part twice or having to copy and paste sequences. Also, it would give you much better control over your layering. You could have 4 or 5 kicks with different filter settings etc.

I don't know about you but I think that'd be dope as shit.

all i know is that it was on the 2000xl, maybe even the 2000, it was called simult. so, in conclusion, old news buddy. i think there's been threads on it before, do a search for simult, and you should find something. also the 2000/xl also had a filter per layer rather than per pad.

hope this helps.

Yes and it's been brought up a few times.

I myself asked for this too - EVEN before the 2.x update came along.

But they did not include it - which really IS a stupid decision - regarding that it was already available on the Mpc2000 and would not destroy their effort to keep the distinct difference between the 1000 & the 2500.

But I'm not sure if they didn't even include it in the new 2500.

I really think it would be a GREAT small feature and it should really be easy to implement - I mean you can MUTE certain pads with another pad as the trigger - why not "trigger" it to play?

Yeah I know it's not something I invented, but it's not on the 1k is it?

Simple little feature like that can't take more than a days work to implement into the current software.

i agree it should be there, i'd imagine it may be fairly complex to implement though.

2500 users have been asking for it for a while too. Hasn't been implemented yet but i'm pretty confident it will at some point. Either that or there will be separate filters for each layer.

true that. mind you the older generation of mpc's didn't have chop shop and all that gubbins to worry about.

If the MPC can handle me recording exactly the same part on a different pad then it should be able to do this. I mean, all they need to do is give you the option of triggering pad x when pad y is triggered. Easy. Like j.m. said - its just the opposite of muting a pad really
