Anyone sell there beats? how much you getting for them

anyone selling any of the beats there making, also how much u getting for them, and do u clear the samples before you sell them on?

i dont outright sell beats...most of my money comes through publishing, which really isnt that much anyway

i have liscencing agreements...tons of them, and those really arent that much

the producer does not need to clear samples before selling the beat, that's the label's job.

I sell some beats outright and depnding on who it is and the type of budget they have, and how I feel about the beat determines what I charge. I sold my first beat in 2000 for $250 , The last track I sold but not outright was for $1500 but it's a beat I did back in 1999. I did not clear any samples.

Most of my purchasers are Netcee's.



So i sell them from 50 -150.






When Im dealing with signed artists...Its more like 1000-10,000









Last week i sold a beat to Tom Gist for 7,500...




I am currently in the process of selling a beat to an R&B artist from Miami.



Shes signed on a development deal...so I gave them a tag of 9,000...Its an imposrt sample so clearin it would be quite a problem.




I never clear samples...I never properly mix my music down (purposely)...Engineers should do that anyway.

Some artists have bigger budgets to deal with. The same track you sell to a "net-cee" for $50.00 could possibly be sold to an established artist for upwards of $50,000.

Excellent point man and so true it's almost terrifying. Acutally, here's a twist: my man from the Chi catches the ear of Havoc of Mobb Deep about some tracks. Hav buys the track from dude for $5000. About 6 months later, Hav turned around and re-sold the track to the GAME for $15,000...the very same "Havoc" track in The Documentary.

The track should be done by the weekend...

Are u talking about the actual track from The Documentary?
