Don't quote me on this but i'd say no as someone in the 2500 forums was saying how nice it is having this feature as it wasn't on the 2k

bit bad really the s950 has it on but not the MPC - somethng wrong there :S

No, this feature is not in any manual or addendum for the 2k/2kxl.

naw. the s series samples are just that - dedicated samplers. they have features geared more towards sampling and editing your samples which is probably why they have an option to normalize. the mpc to me is more of a sequencer....

Its on the MPC 1000 but ive never used it, can some 1 explain when u would use this feature and what its good for.

I used it on the PC for making the sound loulder, and maximises the sound with out going inthe red. that along wit a compressor = phat

Use it with old records and really low volume samples.

weird how you cant normalise on the xl and you cant change the bit rate ie 12 bit/8 bit on the 1000 like you can on the xl

I loved normalize when I used the ASR-X back in the early 90's before my MPC3000. If we wanted to loop something and the only place the singer would stfu was when the song faded out..we could loop it at the end anyway and the normalize would bring the volume all up to the same level.. when I got the MPC3000 I lost all the effects and features I loved about the ASR-X, but the MPC3000's sequencer capabilities were a breath of fresh air. I completely skipped all the MPC 2K/2kXL all together and got my MPC2500 a few days ago and I'm almost up to effects part in the manual..if it normalizes then I'll be happy! 
I love music..hate computers.. imagine that!?
