Yes it was on open stereo mics so we had varied attack from the hammers thats why there are more samples than actual keys on a grand piano.

one thing is bugging me though: do you actually play instruments with your pads??? i dont really get the point of having a piano patch in the mpc, you cant play anything with the pads, do you?

Program the pianos if you are aren't into doing it on the pads.

Oh and, thanks for providing Sonic.

i dont really see the point about having to play piano with mpcs while you can have good sounding vsts (designed for keyboards) for free...

Well the mpc is a sampler and in the good ol days you had to sample pianos and chop them up to get good notes back in the day no cpu and no vsti's so thats what i stick to. Roots baby stick to ya roots.

that sentence is everything but true
if i got a vst that already sounds better than the mpc, it will still sound better in 10 or 20 years, no matter the computer...
and it is quite evident that we will have something even better than these fre vsts by 2016...

correct me if im wrong but the mpc is a very poor sampler

back in the days, back in the days
i dont care how people made music back in the days
back in the days you could only make music with real instruments
it stick to the sound, thats is, and if a free software sounds better than a piece of hardware then ill use the software...

Cuz you're a cheapass

Last time i checked, the MPC was renowned for its groove, ease of use and rock solid sequencer. The sampler's an added bonus in my eyes and more than gets the job done.

I still think properly sampled pianos will sound dynamicaly better than free VSTs too, you need to spend money to get quality in the virtual world
