eh.. is sampling really better on the mpc?

i was having a hard time sampling on the mpc.. especially with the time stretch, cus it takes a lot of trial and error... also I was running out of space so that really pissed me off.

so I opened audacity and I found that it's much better for sampling wav files on my comp.. (probably good for sampling records as well.. but I don't have many records) plus it has a lot of effects and stuff.. as well as looping/repeat.

and I feel like sampling on the mpc is **** oldschool with all the cursors and windows.. on my comp all I have to do is use the cursor and I can cut the samples exactly where I want with clear visuals of the soundwaves.. very time efficient..

i feel like selling my mpc now... i have a 1000 and I bought it like 2 weeks ago..
but I need a machine to produce drum beats.. wonder if $900 bucks was really worth it.. maybe I should have gotten a keyboard/synth..

And your question is WHAT exactly ?

Not hard at all but sampling on a PC is even easier....You can always port your PC samples to the MPC and have the best of both worlds.

gottta boot up the comp.....open the recording app.......record enable.....set levels.....rec.....chop...then transfer the files

well for me i can skip the first three steps...but transfering those files is a b!Tch though..i goota get me a card reader

Yeah....turning on a computer is tough, but I've been practicing and I think I've just about got it.....

i tend to get a better result sampling on the mpc.
but i am pretty much anti computer.... its a sound file, not an visual file...get it?

Seriously though, I sample on the MPC, then transfer my files to the PC to edit them, then back to the MPC. Seems like a lot of work, but you can work the editing SO much faster on a PC, that it more than makes up for the time spent transferring (which isn't much due to my PC's internal 44 in 1 reader).
