Do what you have to do to get the the job done - I sample a little bit but most of my ideas come from my Nord, Emu and VSTs. Run all that through some distortion, delays, tubes, compressors and reverb and you got a better sounding loop than you could ever buy at Guitar Center - However when your listening to music and you hear something that would be cool in a track - jack it and track it!

It jus seemed that your comment was a little misleading so i challenged you to defend it....I'm not one for agro over the net so you dont need to take it there.

If you put tracks together.....I would say its stealing if you dont clear them if you plan on releasing it for sale.......or if you lead a buyer to think its all orginal and you get paid and dont tell them......but to each his own......clearance really depends on who you are.......I was quoted two prices for the same sample when I returned a call to a publishing company from a well know studio here in Philly

Just make sure your business is in order and stay on top of you business because another muvafucca will try to flowers you out of what is really yours......

keep ur eyez open even when they are shut.......Feel me

You mean the SAW wav that is the rhythm? You can make that on Sound Forge easily and it will be your own creation. I've done it many times on my ASR-10 WAY back like years ago. I figured out how to do it on SF a while back also. It is a simple Sawtooth wav. It is looped at maybe 2-5 cycles and INTENTIONALLY not looped perfectly.. Do maybe 1-2 of them and layer them together and/or filter for thickness.. I assume that's what you are talking about, maybe I'm wrong.. I can send you a sample of what I'm talking about PM me..

Even if someone can recognize the sample I don't look at it like it's stealing... and when diddy jacks a whole entire beat and the whole sample is actually the whole beat, that's jacking but it's not stealing cause he paid for it... alot of the artists that I sample probably dont' even own their own publishing and if I was accused of stealing, the corporations that own the rights to the sample basically stole it from the artists because the artists used to sign bad contracts that gave the rights to the record companies... look at Nat King Cole... didn't he die almost penniless?

Tru but shits on peopel who arent priviliged to million dollar budgets to make a beat that is guarnteed to sell . I think samplin isn't wrong. I just feel that if you jack a beat you need to work it so its your beat. We are making music right? Not buying out someones work and slapping our name on it? I feel that diddy needs to run more cities, and leave the production up to Manny Fresh. Jus kiddin. Lil Jon is more like it :D Now we don't need samples no more.
Aww can you smell the sarcasm?
