Beta 15 bUGS.

so i was jammin out in the studio with all the homies writin to my beat..

OS beta 15

i went to Mode Pad A11 while the beat was playing i tried to hold F1 and turn the jog wheel to change through PGM's..

it Froze

i dont want to try it again right now but i will when they all leave.
turned her off n on.. she works fine.
direct recording seemed to work. so far.
also Mode pad a11 DOESNT seem fixed.. (f6 (whole pad)) mono outputs..at least i can do it one by one but i can do that in Mode Mixer....

Mode Trim without any samples loaded = crash.

am i going mad or is there no way to make ur slices into a program on this version? i mean its good to see an improved trim mode. but why cant i save my slices...what am i doing wrong?

i have not had that problem when i went to convert and selected slices and not patched phrase then yes to new pgm it came right up.

EXCELLENT NEW SLICE/TRIM FUNCT!!!!!!!! GREAT workflow.

these guys are the BEST!! note that when trimming samples all the way zoomed out, the increment of how many numbers you travel to one click of the jog wheel is determined by the length of the sample. that's so badass - such quick and smooth trimming - no more automatic shiftclicks in to increments of 100 samples at a time. brilliant.

as for the slice, dude...this is already perfectly useable. what a great slice function. i like how you can set it to slice tenths of a slice, too - that's so cool - and how you can actually increase the number of slices just by jogging the data wheel and watch as your samples fall into the grid. these coders must have read my mind - this complements my workflow and the way i chop samples soooo much.

and now for the bugs. for the most part, it seems that the kinks are getting worked out here. here and there are some issues though, of course - direct recording still seems to have a problem for some (and for me, likt 50% of the time - how weird is that?) and i still get the blank trim crash 100% of the time.

EPC - i tried to do what you did. my mpc just plain wouldn't let me change the pgm til i had stopped the sequence. i think all of those parameters only work for me when the seq is stopped. can you replicate it and give us a set list of things to do so it always happens? include an uploaded project folder, if you can.

old bug - incorrect disply of selection in trim

1 - load a phrase sample (not a oneshot)
2 - zoom in w/ F3
3 - set the start point later (select the last 3/4ths of the sample)
4 - zoom out with F2
5 - note that trim display shows that entire sample is selected, while numbers in upper right display correct data. also note that "PLAY FROM" and "PLAY TO" are accurate - but the waveform display shows the entire sample to be selected when it is not.

BUG - OS FLASH ROM ERRROR

1 - boot up mpc
2 - mode 10
3 - f5 (os)
4 - "FLASH ROM ERASING"
5 - freeze after an error.
6 - ?? what's this all about?

BUG - BLANK TRIM BUG

1 - boot mpc w/ no autoload
2 - go to trim
3 - mpc freezes with

Nym, that OS flash ROM error sounds worrying.
Did it all work out OK, can u explain more?
I'm para to put beta 15 in my MPC now!

things are working fine for me, i just had to reboot. 15 is really badass, i'm not afraid of it.

it just said something about erasing flash rom
wtf is flash rom haha
it doesn't even get to 1%, at 0% it says error and freezes. no big deal. however, obviously they're doing some work in there on something, and i'm curious to see what it becomes.

Wow ... very much digging the new features in TRIM mode and also using the Q-Link 2 in the mixer pages.

Confirmed. I get this too. I get the feeling this OS function is probably only for the developer's use and he forgot to disable/hide it in this release. As it fails to do anything I am happy it's safe ... just as long as I don't press F5

I hope the AUTO loop function that briefly appeared in is beta3 (?) comes back in the final version.

I've tried this here a couple of times, saving projects over themselves to HD and CF and don't get the directory error. I used to get it all the time with OS 2.1. This is one of the fixes in b15, so curious as to why you're still getting the problem. Are you saving to HD or CF card ? Is the project you're loading/saving new or originally created in OS 2.1 or a previous beta (<b15) ?

Cheers A., I just opened a project that was from 2.1 days and re-saved it and didn't the directory error here.

I have been trying to think of what might be different in our usage that means you get the error and I don't. I am using the MPC pretty much as a drum machine alongside other synths. All my projects are relatively small at the moment, 16 short drum hits assigned to the pads, plus a looped break or two. I think you're doing more elaborate stuff there with the MPC and I wonder if your projects that have more and larger samples makes is what makes the difference ?

3.0 had me hooked at the first beta

pendulum - all my samples are relatively tiny - just numerous. this project that i was trying to save was unfinished, it's just an 8 bar loop i've been working on. it hasn't branched into a song yet.

hard drive maybe?

Even an unfinished beta is betta than a finished Wakai OS!

yeah 15 is fully functional. as in at this point it's better than 2.1.

i don't think the other betas could really say that
but at this point...wow. i'm really impressed. the slicing and trimming is amazingly quick. the grid is just lovely, and the pad - 11 is so cool.

what was pad 11/pad 15 before the beta? i completely forget.
