i just don't have the time to go do the demo thing....
i have some KRK V4's on the way. i have high hopes - i figure it won't be long before i go looking for a sub to match with them though.
it's an assumption, that the SUB is allowed some more tollerance for imprecision ?? so maybe more "economic" models are reasonable. a good filter/crossover is probably the most important "precision" component in the sub...
for the sake of uniformity, KRK RP10S is where i would start. my 200 year old house is unfortunatly not the best place for this type of work !
i have the same problem as you, i work 6 days a week, long hours, my only real shopping time is at christmas. it's a bummer. let me know how you get on with those krks. i need some monitors, i've never owned any either, and i'm thinking genelecs. maybe the 6" ones.
