VST PAD REPLACEMENT question ???????

well i was tryn to fix my own pad, and accedentally ripped my poor little pad off, i was soooo pissed!!! felt like slappin myself, sooo i already order a fresh new pad from VST. my question is, all i have to do is solder the wires right??? if it is than that should be very simple. i did notice its a red and blue wire so does it matter how i put the connections? or will it show there which ones i have to put??? help a poor guy out here!!!!

Yeah, who has ordered pads? Does it come with the wires?

The pads come "Plain" I simply reused the wires by de-soldering them from the old pads, then re-soldering them to the new pads.
Just to let you know this was the first time in my life I've ever soldered anything. It was very easy.

wait a minute man,,,are they sending you a whole pad, including the "housing",,if so,,you dont need to soder anyhting..you can remove the entire pad board,,remove 2 screws, unplug the old pad housing, and simply replace the old one with the new one....i recently fixed one of my pads where the carbon sheet was simply unglued,,,

dude, how the hell did you rip your pad?..did you try to pry it from under its housing without removing it?..,,its MUCH easier if you remove the pad board compleatly, and unscrew the pad housing...

get at me if you need help ...

The wires dont come with the replacement pads at all. Soldering the wires is the easiest soldering job you can ever do. Just make sure not to make any cold-soldering joints. Apply heat to the bottom contacts of the pad and wires before applying the solder. A cold-solder joint will look dull and gray, and you will not get enough continuity. Your solder joint should look more shiny and silver.

As for prying the pad open from the frame, I made the same mistake and made a very small cut in the rubber. Not enough to ruin it though. So I took the entire pad assembly out as well to get at the pad frame and remove it witout any further damage. I found it easier to repair, once I had the whole pad assembly out of the unit, which gave me more room to work with precisely.
