anyone good at maths for tempo conversion

I was thinking that as the bpm analiser sux i the mpc 1000 , is there a calculation that you can do to work out bpm .

For example if the sample is one bar and you have the length of sample is thier a formula to get to the bpm ??

10584000 / sample length = bpm
