Using an MPC 2000XL with an external Keyboard. Please Help !

I saw it in many beatmakingvideos but myself I never could do it. For Example i select a sound on my MPC and It splits me the sound on the keyboard so i can play easy bassline in or so. Please Help !!!! Important THX

im guessing your triggering sounds ok already but cant spread over the keyboards with one sound.....maybe you mean 16 levels and change parameter from velocity to NOTE VAR press a pad or a key to choose which pad/sound you want to play with then press turnOn. As long as 16 levels is on this will spread that sound with its program parameters across all the pads.......there is another way that allows you to copy program parameters making them adjustable individually on each pad but whilst still spreading the same sound (now changeable on each pad) over all the pads from low to hi pitch......Goto programs then Auto (Auto Chromatic Assignment) choose your sound , set the original key (ie if you know that the sound is a c note then choose C also lets you fine tune from here. then press DO IT .....remember you can adjust the parameters in programs for all the seprate keys/pads so key c3 could be filtered differently from key d3 etc... allowing for a real dynamic patch all from one sample whilst retaining velocity control.

yea but 16 levels wont spread them across the keys. maybe the pads. if thats cool wit you then jazzur is right. you need another sampler that can do that for you.

auto copys the selected sound and its parameters across all the notes and pads....and it changes the pitch in increments of 10 which is a semitone! from C to Csharp providing your sample is in the pitch of c!

remember this process creates a whole new program and changes all the note numbers relative to each pad back to chromatic (Pad a1 = note35/B01, Pad a2 = note36/C1, Pad a3 = note37 /Csharp1) ...as apposed to the default GM sounds Drum layout (Pad a1 = note37/D1, Pad a2 = note36/E1, Pad a3 = note42/Fsharp1)

as each pad/key now has its own parameters means you cant really add NV slider across all the played notes, just one pad at a time.

You should really consider gettin another sampler one that has easily assignable key zones, AD+SR on the envelopes and above all realtime control...even an emu ESI-32 can do all of this and they go for less than 50 quid nowadays, still have the keyboard plugged into the mpc toplay and record your notes/contoller data/ pitch wheel/ modwhee/ etc onto and thru the mpc to the other sampler(s)/or computer!
