Frustrated...... How do YOU record?

Trial and error, but unfortunatly more errors.....

I'm trying to get myself a meathod of recording.

How do you guy do it? From your mpc to your computer. Right now I'm just trying to get the goods off my Triton Ex. into Logic on my Mac. I've tried the USB midi Sync to get everything timed up but still no luck.

Step by step, what techniques do you kats use to record your sounds from your samplers / synths? What have you found that works the best?

I will go into more detail after a good nights sleep but would like to hear some feedback on this. Thanks for the read. Easy.

Sequence everything through the MPC, plop the audio onto Pro-tools.

I can record no problem....I route everything into my Alesis Mix 8 USB into my computer.

Drums first? Do you record the whole track in one layer then go back and re-record everything else into seperate tracks?

So you have it in one big file in Pro Tools, right? Does this make it easier to mix the beat?

See, that what I'm sayin. I can get my goods all onto one track but that really doesn't leave much room for mixing it up ya know.

My work flow:

sampler ->
Digital 8 track ->
Additional software for tweaking.

I create a beat on the mpc with nuendo, batterry and kontakt as the samplers. (i use the mpc as a pure midisequencer no internal sounds.)
Then when finish i record the seperate drumhits into the mpc for that extra "mpc sound".
Save em on a cf card and edit (cut) them in soundforge, then place em back into battery (drumsampler vst).
Then i save the midi files on my mpc and transfer them to nuendo. In nuendo i convert the midifiles to audio. and voila, the whole beat is "recorded" without the extra ad conversion. And the best of all is that i keep the mpc sound on my drums cos i sampled them first into the mpc.

This is a method i started doing a few days back. It's the best working method for me. Perfect even!
