i never get the directory error whennnnn

i delete the prj and all files before saving.

i just never get it, period.

i used to, but i haven't gotten it in a long ass time.

i delete the folder and make a new one, and I haven't had a directory error for awhile.
It's kinda annoying to have all these extra steps just to safely save.
ahh well, i'll try deleting the project and all files next time as that might be a bit faster.

Lemme get this straight tho....So yer deleting the old files off yer card and then resaving them again from the RAM instead of just replacing the file - which essentially does the same thing yet you dont have to go back and delete shit?

That's interesting, for a while I saved like that too thinking I had eliminated the problem, but it crept back in there eventually. Then I started doing that combined with the "refresh" and I haven't had an error yet.

Are you talking since OS 3.X or before? If you mean since OS 3.X, then that might mean that JJ is getting close to fixing it because I know that in OS 2.1, errors appeard for me using the method you explained.

Why bother? It works fine if you give it another 2 or 3 shots at the most

The theory is is that getting the error, then resaving is one of the sources of corrupt files. You will see... the more you get errors and just save again right away like that, the more corrupt files you will get. At first everthing will seem fine, then files will start to disappear, then system errors and crashes.

HD & cf cards? ....or both. Do you delete them using USB?

i havnt had ONE error.. since i got the beast.. 3 weeks in, no errors..

i guess, once i had a missing sample error.. but thats cause i accidently deleted a sample that a program needed..

i hope my luck continues

Well I've had mine for a year 1/2 and nothing has poped up saying directory error.
