Fruityloops and MPC1000

Hey, wsup yall, I'm new to the board and got a question. Okay, I've been using fruityloops for awhile now, and its been cool so far, I'm still trying to learn it a little more. However, I've been thinking about getting an mpc, because a lot of cats tell me its the real thing to get, etc, etc. I've got about 300 right now, and I was thinking about saving up for the mpc1000. However, my question is, would I be wasting my money. Does the mpc1000 really do anything that I couldnt do in fruityloops? Is a hardware sampler really better?

I use to mess with acid and just got the 1000 and let me tell you, nothing feels better then pounding out the drumbs.

Yup it's just somethin bout the MPC pads they feel like Alicia Keys thick hips Mmmmm......... ya feel me! The MPD 16 is O.K but it's not the same as having a MPC fo' reel playa!

fruity loops is a step quencer thus not allowing you to get
in between the notes.

the pads are half my story, my sr16 and dr770 had decent pads. But I like how my work flow is so much organized. and I like that note repeat button.
now if akai released the asq10 with the original chips on a smaller fab with note repeat or release the mpc 1000 without a sound engine, I would buy two at least!

Yeah, i feel you mang,..I am using FruityLoops also, and i too was skeptical about purchasing an MPC1000 because i like the certain features that Fl could do. But reading the reviews i like it so far.

I want somethin different Beyonce is from around my way but she's tight too but to be real the pads on the all mpc's are the s^it mos def!

What about piano roll? I got FLStudio4.0 and works fine for me.

Kidsunshine, u get 0-23 clicks per note on piano roll in fl. You could also use a shift function on step sequencer which iallows you to place a note on just about every click just like in piano roll and to top it all of you have a swing (shuffle) funtion that could be applied to all tracks simultaneously.

Plus maddd Plugins but If you only tried the pirated version u missed out on a whole lot of plugins.

The biggest problem with fl is the god damn computer screen that dont allow you to just use your ears. The Mpc got a lil as$ screen which is good cause you aint workin primarily with ur eyes.

As far as pads and keyboard is concerned, its all apples and oranges. All I need is some source to punch in notes, wether it be the pads, the keyboard synth or the pc keyboard or a small button. I gets it done.

Fruity Loops = A Cheap but useful Computer Based MPC. Even Just Blaze has **** wit fruity loops, also rumored to have f*cked wit it are lil jon, timbaland, kanye west and we all know the poster boy of Fruity Loops: 9th Wonder.

i agree.

FL's is amazing for what it does.

i still use it for some secret tricks on my own demos.

but there is nothing quite like pads and the 16 levels feature.

Use both. Best of both worlds.
