STATIC in RECORDS

I was wondering if anybody knew how to decrease the amount of static that can be heard in songs after they have been sequenced.

I use protools le to record and i was wanted to know if anyone could help me. I sample from records into my mpc and i just want to cut down on the static and pops that I hear. I know static is good in some cases but sometimes a little too much static can hurt quality.

Can anyone please help or guide me in the right direction.

i personally like the static noise. I think it brings life to the beat. But in the rare instance that i want to get rid of it, the 4band filter on my effects card is where I go. I got a 2000 classic

try turning down the bass and mayb the high a lil before sampling this helps then go in to your param screen and kut the frequency down there.

You can get rid off all those clicks, pops, and hisses with Soap or Waves Restoration. They can be used with PT as plugs. Restoration is pricy, something like 800, but Soap is cheap and I heard mixed reviews. Soap is also a VST so I think you might have to use Rewire or something to have it interface with PT.

Exactly. It amazes me sometimes. The hiss eliminator is my sh!t though, i love it.

Yeah, I feel you, I use noise reduction, click and crackle removal and clip restoration on Sound Forge OFTEN.
