I chopped a sample up into 8 pieces and the sample is playin

So i just downloaded the os 2.1 for the 1k and I already got a sample n chopped it up into 8 pieces but for some reason when I go to play it back it is playin the WHOLE SAMPLE on pad 1. And i chopped it up into 8 pieces. WTF? Can someone help me out?

Forgive me Im new to dis. Anyway i figured that if I sliced it up the sample would already be assigned to the pads??? Am i wrong if so how do i that? Oh yeah for some reason the sample isnt in wave form.
