but before you are able to install the hard drive, you have to get the hard drive adapter (HDM10). to find out more on what that is, click on the link in my signature that has the HDM10 in it and read up on it.

probably been asked before but i couldnt find it in this thread...is it possible to format the drive - fat..on the pc and then copy all your samples onto from the pc and finally install it into the mpc...or must the mpc format the drive in order to see it....will save me loads of time if i can just copy samples onto pc formatted drive first

cheers

to make sure everything with the drive is good, i would format it via the mpc. but what you can do is format it on the mpc then take the drive out and connect it to your pc and copy everything over then re-connect it to the mpc. i haven't tested this theory but i don't see why it wouldn't work. try it and let us know how it turned out.

i've just ordered the tosh 100gb but had a horrible thought. how on earth do you locate samples and such which may be far down on the jog wheel.

do you have to pay with jog wheel blisters for having a h/d or is there a better way?

steve nieve wrote:hi i got the 100gb toshiba hard drive everyone seems to have but it wont format using either os; just keeps saying system error and says full when u try and load so i cant u it at all. also the mpc seems alot slower when it in and the pc ignores it.
Do u think there is a problem with my mpc (had it a while, is blue version) or do u think the hard drive is faulty?
Please help someone;

Does anyone have a solution to this? I have the exact same problem, but with the black version.

Edit, OK all of a sudden it works. Problem solved.

Hi, I may be asking stupid questions, so please tell me if I am. Do these hard drives actually go into the HDM10 which connects directly on to the MPC1000, or is it just something of an extension (that looks like an external hard drive for a PC)? Does anyone have pictures? Also, will this work with the JJ OS?
