Getting 808 kicks not to clutter on the MPC2k???

Basically wat I'm tryin' to ask is how can I get the 808 kicks not to mix into eachothers sound when I hit the next pad??? I kno its in parameter somewhere...

I know this works for the 1000, i've done it...

program ---> parameters, then change poly to mono for that particular sound.

i use note off with a bit of decay, but then again i pitch mine to make basslines. are you talking strickly used as a kick drum?

Have you got more than one 808 sound. ie the same sound spread across multiple pads?

If so go into the program parameters and press open window where you change the poly/mono/note off. There's an option there to mute samples when you press the other pad.
