Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Does any one here have specs on this option, do I need to spend $200 on this card, or is there a generic rom chip that will work in the 2000?

It might be an company that makes one but i mean if u need that extra 8mb of space then i recommend u go for it. If u dont need it then dont spend the money on it. They are VERY HARD to find because they are discontinued THOUGH some stores may have like 1 or 2 in stock they are willing to part with.

But just for your information the Flash ROM conserves RAM space and is available like any other data saved to a floppy disc or hard drive. When a program is loaded from Flash ROM only the program data is loaded, not the sample data, thus conserving RAM memory.

Also go to www.mpc2000xl.com they talk about the expansion to.

Most people here will tell you that you do not need it. Some find it usefull... mainly because you have samples that are loaded in memory even at bootup, plus its the only way to get your total mem count up to 40MB.

As far as I know you will not find it cheaper than that... it used to cost a LOT more. It also costs so much because it is high speed. It goes at the speed of RAM whereas normal flash cards are slow.
