what are the benefits of installing a cd/dvd burner in2500

does anyone knows how to burn acd from memory card ? when i go to the cd write screen open a file all i see is my sounds and samples cannot find the songs or seq need some help bad got some hot beats need to get them out there....please help mane!!

You can only burn wave files and create audio CDs.

i know that but how do i get the song out to burn? i have read the 1.21v manual about burning process. then how do i make my song a wav file ?have you burned a cd yet? and steps how?

Yes, I have burned a CD and have written a detailed thread how to do so months ago.

To turn your song into a wave, you have to go to the Record/Sample section...you have to set your MPC to sample its own output...start playback of your sequence..and Record/Sample. Once you song is a wave, you can then burn an audio CD.

Hey J, I was reading up on one of your posts & you mentioned that the 2500 lacks the memory to cd function (let me know if I'm wrong). Now why would akai do such a thing? I thought that was a feature that came with having a cd/rw in the first place...hmm...interesting A friend of mine bought his 4k off of ebay and it was loaded with all kinds of sh*t (nice sh*t that is). So every chance I get, I take a couple of blank cd's with me and load up. He does'nt play with it much because of the live gig's he's devoted to every weekend, so I have to tutor him on it a little whenever we get together.

The 2500 was initially released without the CD option available. When they made it available, you could only use it as a CD player or CD/DVD Rom drive. The next OS added the ability to burn audio CDs, but not data back-up. Hopefully, this will come in the future. Initially, it was written that data back will be available but not CD audio burning. I guess that had to decide which one was worth having more...who knows??
