Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

So, about a month ago I started losing beats again, due to corrupted data. I ain't got none left, all is effed up. People said I had to re-install OS 1.14, so I dl'ed it, put it on ZIP and loaded it into my MPC. At first it worked out, but then it started actin' all weird when I put it back on the day after. Now I can't even get into it, cause every time I put it on it says 'Insert MPC 2000XL disk!', and when I put another ZIP in with the OS on it, it goes 'IOMEGA 250' or sumn and flips back to the insert disk message.

What the.

Are you swapping your zip disk between your mpc and pc???

No

Although I did when I found out certain sounds were corrupted, as to make a backup of whatever was left non-corrupted.

Open the thing and pull out the ram and put it/them back in. that should do it , and check the scsi cables or ide calble (incase you have made the internal atapi zip mod) Last June i had a problem most of my zipdisks and files being corrupted but i turned out to be a problem with the ram and/or ide cables no being properly connected. Maybe the moisture of the rainy summer air was the cause.

Thanks y'all.. I'ma leave the opening to my local audio shop (it's gon' cost me though), cause I don't wanna mess it up more than it already is. I don't know how them cables and RAM look anyway.

Yeah, I have the zip installed already. I DL'ed the OS from akaipro.com, saved it on a zip, then inserted the disk b4 i powered up. Then I turned on the MP and same ****. Actually, now i just get a blank screen, and even scarier, I had same strange ass lines on the left half of the screen. I never know the xl could produce colors, but it did for me. Thanks for the quik response, but that didn't quite work for me. Any more suggestions?.....
