I just transfered about 615MB of samples from my PC to my mpc and afterwards I went to the main screen to play the track that was already loaded up and I got no sound. NOTHING......not from the pads, not when I tried to preview a sample....nothing!!1 I had to reboot then of course everything was fine. Has anyone had this at all??

Maybe because the HD was accessing so long?? Huh, maybe a fluke.......we'll see.

I wonder if Akai is listening to all these bugs? This forum is filled with comments and ideas they should be listening to.

i've had similar. after transferring via USB I've had to reboot before the files are recognised.

happens to me ALL THE TIME. At first, i was like... is my MPC plugged in? did i blow my headphones up? did the volume knob break like my badly beaten 2000?

restart... all is fine. wooooooooooo

the bug is this: (and forgive me if i'm wrong. i guess bugs, not squash em.)

after transferring a SIGNIFICANT ammount of data from your computer through USB, and then you do not unmount the MPC (which akai recommends you do, if you're MAC geared), AND the USB cable gets unplugged........

no sound.

maybe that's why AKAI recommends to unmount the MPC. i forget, plus i'm lazy.

now what i want to know is, should i sell this bug-ridden piece for a NEKO/MEKO...

Are you really serious?

If you are peeved that you have to restart your MPC after you transfer a bunch of sounds...yeah, maybe you should get rid of it and get a Meko, which is a completely different product.

i kinda like it. gives me time to reflect...

and no, i'm not serious. ordered the meko 5 minutes ago... just to ease the pain of crossing that bridge to softsynth heaven.

watch me crack it with OSX, too...

and jahrome...

Doesn't really bother me that much. I just wondered if it was just me that this has happened to.

I most definitely can live with this little problem or bug if you will.
