Hi,

I have tried to use the search function to find out if it is possible to load mpc2000xl sequences+programs into a mpc1000?

I have just sold my mpc 2000xl, before I send it to the buyer I want to transfer the work I have on Zip disks. Since the zip I have is tempramental I have been saving them to a cf (in the floppy drive) reader once I have loaded them to the sampler. Ideally I would like to be able to use this cf card in my mpc1k and load the sequences. I have tried this and although the samples are accesible the allpgms file and allseqs file wont load and come back with the "wrong file message"

Is there some freeware that will convert programs and seqs to mpc1k format?

i really dont want to have to record all my work to pro tools as this could take ages.
I'm running version 2.10 of the mpc1k os.

Cheers for all your help

The answer to your question for whether or not the 1k can read XL sequences and programs is yes with some limitations(see below).

File Compatibility
MPC2000XL SEQ, ALL, PGM, WAV (When PGM file is loaded, only pad assign is loaded. Other edit parameters are ignored.)
MPC4000: SEQ, ALL, WAV (No compatibility of PGM)
MPC3000: No compatibility
Z4/8: WAV only
S1000/3000: No compatibility

Cheers Nicole,

for some reason though the samples will load but the allseq and allpgms files won't.

Would I have to save all programs individually and all seqs individually for the mpc 1k to be able to load them?

cheers

Save each sequence as a midi file.

Save each program as pgm.

APS will not work as far as I know.

what lamp says is right i just did it myself ( had the same problem ) but this means you'll have to load your beats in a 2000 xl and save them as midi to load them in your 1000.
dont forget to select your program per track because this information is not included in the midi file.

Yep.

I don't have a 1k but I have friends with 1k's and I go
help them every now and again. But not enough to get
in depth with it.

Some stuff is universal, like the midi files thingy. Other stuff is not.
