It's not really a problem because we all have to change the pitch anyway..but when I sample into the 1000 using the digital input it plays back the sample at the original pitch in record mode, but when I take it out of record in / sampling mode, my sample is pitched down at least -2 for some reason. Anyone know why?

The signal you're getting is 48 Khz and if you sample in 44.1 Khz the sample will play slower, therefore slowing down the pitch. Try sampling from device with a digital out and make sure the output signal is 16Bit 44Khz.

A good question to ask is "what's the sample rate of my source audio"?
I mean, if it's 48kHz as seen in your wave editor, and you tell your sound card to output at 44.1KHz, then it will either:
- have no effect on the result, play it at the wrong pitch as you hear now, or
- do a sample rate conversion on the output.
If you get the latter, that may be OK, but if it's a cheap DSP e.g. Sound Blaster, you might want to do that in software instead so you can control the results. It depends on what your source is...
