program app for 2500?

i tried using mpc editor and it doesnt always work. i have no problems making the pgm, but when i load it, most of the time it doesnt load all of the samples. and alot of times i'll get "file not found" and nothing will be loaded at all. but the pgm will be listed on the pgm field on the main screen.

anyone have this problem? im not even sure if mpc editor is completly compatible with the 2500 since its not listed in the app. i have v3

does anyone know of any other 3rd party pgm makers? for pc? i tried bluebox, but that program is on crack. it keeps erroring out

why would you buy a $2000 piece of equipment and not use it for what it was made for?

you're probably not going to find software that's 100% compatible with it.

guess what, the mpc does more than just making pgms. yeah i can do it on the mpc, but working with mpc editor, i was able to make pgms for all of my kits, over a gig in samples, in a few minutes. im just asking a software question man. thanks for the help

over a gig of drum sounds in a few minutes? does mpc editor freeze time or something?

anyway... like i said, you're probably not going to find a program that's 100% compatible with the 2500's program. mpc editor was mainly created because older mpc's weren't as compatible with computers. it made it easy to store your samples as programs on your computer, save them to disk and then load them up in the mpc as needed.

since the 2500 is recognized as an external harddrive, you can now just drag and drop files from the computer, so there probably isn't as much of a demand for a program like mpc editor. plus, you no longer have to wait for a sound to load to preview it, you can preview it straight from disk, so that makes it that much easier to do it on the mpc.

i've had a 2000xl for 5 years, so i'm quite aware of what mpc's are capable of. i've also delt with the floppy disks, zip disks and SCSI. and i also know that my programs from my 2000xl don't load up 100% correctly in the 2500. envelopes need to be adjusted, the filters are different and a major difference is in the mixer window. the 2500's mixer volumes seem to change more logorithmicly whereas the 2000's is more linear. i would have some sounds in my mixer with the volume maybe 10% of the way up on the 2000 and they'd fit perfectly in the mix, but when i load it in the 2500, i can't hear them at all.

i'm getting off track, but basically mpc editor was made for the 2000, 3000, etc, it's not made for the 2500 which has a more advanced program. it might be good for just assigning sounds to pads, but that's probably about it.

its easy man. i highlight a folder with samples, then pressed "control a" to load them across the pads, then control s to save. 4 banks full and saved in a matter of seconds. then off to mp

thats pretty much what i want. a time saver. i was able to assign pads and load them on the mp and have all the pads assigned in no time. but about 75% of the pgms failed. looks like ima have to do it the manual way. its alright tho, im callin in sick tomorrow just to mess with it.

i follow you. um, first off... i take it you are on a PC. no problem...

translator... but not now. the version now, even though it claims to have MPC compatibility, doesn't. i ended up buying the program, and all my "supposed" MPC programs were actually korg triton programs (with the .KPF extension). i complained with a vengenece, and they let me beta test the new version. it's nice.

you can drag and drop full folders/AKAI partitions/gigs of sounds, and it maps them across the MPC pads. no gaps. you can also translate soft programs (sampletank/halion/battery/giga/etc) into MPC1000 compatible programs. (1k is 2500, basically)

expect it to surface in a couple months. till then, bite the bullet... or downgrade. i did. (sike)

how bout using awave to convert the not usable MPC programs to usable ones? (batch convert to MPC1k)

It took months for the great support staff at Chicken Sys to get the right fix for me to get Translator to copy programs from zips made with my 2000XL to compact flash for my MPC 2500. I'm still not able to copy my sequences. They're not recognized. I was told I'll have to resave them as midi files. I won't be able to do that for a few more weeks when I go home for Christmas and can get hold of a 2000XL.
