ok
for starters i have a pcd-25 cardreader that worked fine in an external case 2 nights ago. i decided to go ahead and attempt to make the card reader internal. i followed all the instructions that are on mpc3000.com and on this site, got all the necessary parts to convert it to an internal, did all the steps and turned my mpc on and the screen was blank.

there was no boot up but the cardreader access light was blinking on and off as if it was accessing the card. now since it did not boot after about a minute or so, i turned the machine off and checked all my connections. everything was fine so i tried again. same result.

next i unplugged the scsi cable thinking it was a bad cable, but the same result happened when i turned the machine on.

next i unplugged the power cable to the card reader and turned the machine on and it booted up just fine. plugged it back in and back to the blank screen.

so i checked the wire cuts and tape job that i did and everything seemed ok. i put the wiring back together and booted up again. this time it was a blank screen and now my backlight doesnt work.

im pretty upset about the whole thing and i just need some help to get this thing back working
i am thinking that the floppy power cable that comes with the mpc and the 4 pin molex do not work well together. it seems that the wire that came with the mpc is too thin to run the voltage that the reader needs. my floppy drive is the same voltage as my card reader though.
what can i do about this? how can i change the cable out and have the reader power up and work fine?
is my backlight burned out as well?

here are some pics of my setup as well as pics of the cable used:

I was under the impressino you couldn't put a car reader in a 60? :?

no-one confirmed or denied though, but it does say on mpc3000.com that you can't
