beats for peeps but no keyboards for feets????

i need a key board so i can laydown stuff on my beat in real time.

at the moment i use a edyrole m30 with music packages and sample my tune to be reused on pads.

i read i need a keyboard with sounds on it

i want to recorde live usinf the keyboard to layer sounds over beat.

should i get a new keybaord

or should i get a sound module that links to the m30 edirole and back to the akai2000xl daddy

i need it right so bizznithes can heare me ryhyme tite then i get f'@k all night

if you have a midi controller i am assuming that you have a daw. couldnt you route the sound from a vst out of the soundcard into the mpc? then you wouldnt need to buy anything. im not entirely sure if that would work. im 2 lines short, but i dont see why it wouldnt.

get a keyboard with keys cuz playing a melody on the pads dfor me can be a bit#$ but im used to play keyboards so... but the way the mpc spreads the notes over pads i dont like id rather have real keys

at the end ov the month im gunna add pro tools 7 and the m box 2

i dont want to sample everything to get sounds.... i want to do it live on the keyboard as if i was usin the pads on the xl
i would do this for sinth stings and bass etc but it has to be live...

should i buy another keybaord that has sounds on it or a sound module that links via midi to the edirom m30 keyboard back the akai 2000xl

or will using the mbox and pro tools sort it all out?????

i just hooked up my mpc to the outs of my audio interface and recorded vst sounds to the mpc while the sequence is playing. another option if you are going to get pt, sync the mpc and pt together and record the mpc to the computer while playing your midi keyboard. im not sure about the mbox but i am pretty sure that it should have some outs.

either way you tipped me off to yet another function of my gear, so thanks for asking the question i didnt even think of.

forget those cheap plastic midi controler keys they are all rank man bigtime. Get an old DX 7 or something like it and their cheap. In the old days they made the keys solid and playable not like now with their plastic crap.

i can only get sounds in if i sample them and paly on keys...

how did u record vst sounds whilst recording on the mpc...

my sound interface is a a2 basic

small headphone in outs....


it sounds like you have a good sound card which sends note sounds to the mpc which be heard before and while in record mode as if you were pressin mpc pads with sound loaded..

i bought a computer and every high end softwere package first

and a mpd 16

the small headphone jacks are 1/8" jacks. what you will need is an adapter. going from 1/4" to 1/8". then you will be able to plug any 1/4" to 1/4" instrument line into the soundcard. from there, plug them into the inputs of the mpc and go to the record screen. hit the keys on the keyboard and you should see some movement on the monitor. once you see movement, that indicates that the mpc is recieving an audio signal, hit record and play.

btw, you know this is the mpc 1k forum right? there is a dedicated 2kxl forum. just making sure, i dont mind helping either way
