have you considered that you *can't* hear the difference? concentrate, it's subtle. i did the test with Logic and Live. MIO 2882 + AMT8 on a G5 tower, latest Mac OS.

I did the test with Nuendo 3, custom built PC w/ dual 23 inch monitors...so what?

Maybe its your gear and the Mac OS that is given you problems???

As I stated before, no audio issues...and no issues looking at the track graphically....

for what? it was just more info on my setup.

how's the nuendo crack?

I typed a long drawn out post but said why bother.
No one really cares about your ability it's your methods.
If you don't use micro timing for the type of music you do then fine, but many types of music require it.

Trying to save face are you? Stop worry about me and micro-timing. I simply asked for your help. Are you going to send me a MIDI file or not? You act as if I am trying to steal a hit song from you. Simply compose a drum track that you believe will produce an accurate test result and email it to me. If you are not willing to do so, then there really is no reason to continue this conversation....but I will keep entertaining you...

Really? No, you was trying to show that you are serious with music and that you have a top-notch set-up.....so you couldn't possible have issues with you other gear and that it must be your MPC.....

Honestly..it could possible be your MPC. I am only trying to produce it on my set-up.

As far as my cracked copy of Nuendo? I have been using Nuendo since version 1.5. I paid for that..paid for the Nuendo 2 upgrade...paid for the Nuendo 3 upgrade...and I plan on getting the Nuendo 4 update when its released shortly. I don't have to use cracked software..and I will never use a cracked program. What's the big deal? Nuendo costs more than an MPC 2500....and in the same price range as a G5

So...do you want to email me a complex MIDI drum track to be used in the timing test?

haha, you really are something! so, you use nuendo for the stuff you posted on your myspace? it's overkill.

maybe, if you email me a midi file, i might do the test and show you. nah... too much time waisted with ya on this already.

Its not me who you should be worried about. You claim you do audio for picture and can't edit/align audio.

Nuendo...Digital Performer 5..Reason 3......as well as the MPC..are tools that I use to teach my 12 y/o son  I enjoy when I take him to Guitar Center. "We have all these things at home...when are you going to get some new gear/software :P "

So are you going to send me a MIDI file and stop worring about the 4 bar loops I put up there?

You're "groove" deaf, can't do anything for ya if you can't hear the difference.

Case rested. You guys are full of shit. All that hot air you've been talking..making claims..but haven't provided many facts.

Actually, the only facts you provided is your lack of ability to program drums, edit simple audio in a DAW, understand the relationship of MIDI/DIGITIAL AUDIO/COMPUTERS....

Its all good. I knew you were full of shit from the beginning and didn't really expect a response.

That's what I get for going back and forth with a guy that uses an MPC 2500 for sound to picture (you could have at least used an MPC 2000 XL that has an actual SMPTE option  ).

ah you're such bonehead! incredible

just program the simplest "boom pa boom boom pa", quantize it at 75% swing and do the test like i explained b4. if you can't hear it, just quit. and that's actually in your own best interest.

I am a bonehead yet you can't use tools that you claim you use for employment. What does that make you? Dunce? I don't know

I actually did the test, if you actually too the time to read. You suggested that I couldn't hear the difference. Well, I zoomed in on the audio (DAWs can do that you know...) and don't see a differemce. Your buddy in this thread claims its my drumming skills and says that SWING (which you suggested) plays no part in this test). For the record...I did it with and without swing.

So actually, I was going to quit but now...I won't. I have my own ideas how to test this. I will create a BS drum track with random notes everywhere. I will let my MPC 3000 and 2500 play it back into my DAW and compare the results.

i'm renaming you "Crazee J"

what you should do right after you jacked up both your MPCs up your ass, is do the swing test and put it up on your myspace.

Well...your English is just fine to say such a gay thing. :P

Soooo....I guess you are still having problems with your MPC. Sorry to hear that. Maybe sell it and get you an MPC 2000 or something. Are you still having problems with Logic. I believe I may be able to help you....but only after you read the getting started quick reference. I can't help you if you won't help yourself.

Better yet....lets try something simpler for you...Garage Band should have been installed on your Mac. In today's lesson.......

hey crazee J,

my MPC with JJ's OS works fine thanks.

are you still paranoid and troubled because you can't hear the MIDICLOCK's effect on the MPC's groove? maybe take a percussion class in your local tamtam club...it could help.

i haven't had a glitch yet with MPC with JJ'OS. Haven't sampled or used the Audio Thru yet though...

In a (probably fruitless) attempt to get this back on topic, did anyone notice that the next 1000 OS has a neat looking midi editor?

That's not back on topic...wrong forum and wrong thread :P

Hey period juice,

If the JJ OS works fine...why were you crying like an alterboy with your pants down   (Damn..I got jokes)....

I don't have any issues that's why I was trying to help you out. However, if you actually used the MPC you would know that....ah shucks just forget it

Anyway...I did more tests. This time, I tested sync with both the Akai and JJ OS. First, I recorded audio into my DAW. I received the same results with both OS. Next, I recorded MIDI into my DAW. For the guys saying I can't hear differemces..and that I can't see it graphically.....I just opened up my DAWs Midi Event window. This is where I can see exactly where my percussion hits. I had consistent timing throughout all tests.
