Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Hey team,

My little brother surprised me with a new keyboard on tuesday for my birthday, i couldn't believe it!

I use a 2000XL and up to this point have had a yamaha 64 key piece of shiz from grade school that i use as a MIDI controller only for autochromatic assignment of my pads.

I'm going to stop by the music shop he got it from and try to find out if it's something that will actually be more useful than what i was doing before, or if maybe i should trade it for something else that i need (fx module, new mixer etc.)

Does anyone have experience with EMU keyboards and some cool stuff i could do with it and the programs it comes with? the description of features is pretty much all jargon to me...
Thanks in advance! :D

Emu xboard 49 is a very good keyboard/midi controler, the feeling of keys is excellent.True velocity and aftertouch I might say.
Of course it is nothing comparing to stuff like Clavia Nord or Korg (sp300),cause they have advanced ,professional keys installed in them, like in real piano you know :)

Anyway,I'm thinking about getting one of these, but the 61 keys version. So far I could try the 25 and my friend told me about 49 model. They're pretty much the sam, except the number of octaves.

By the way,the knobs work very well too.

whats aftertouch, and what are the knobs for? why does it have "memory save" buttons? can you save midi data in it for some reason? even in the manual I'm having trouble figuring simple things like this out.

Well I've used it with some vst's and the knobs made it easy tweaking the sounds. Only used it for a couple session's so I didn't get all the features yet.
