how do i sample from my cd-rom drive using the mpc1000

There are two ways to do this if we are talking about an audio CD. The best way would be to use an audio editor (Sound Forge) that can extract Audio from an audio cd where you can convert it into a Wav file and do any editing that you wish and then transfer via the USB connection. The other way is the same as if you were using a CD player and simply run the Audio out of the CD player into the Audio in on the MPC1000. So unless you have a decent audio card on your PC then the first option is better. If you don't have a decent audio card and do not have an audio editor on your PC you could get an adaptor (1/8 stereo mini plug to x2 1/4 plug) and run it into the audio in on the MPC1000.
