Hi there,
I plan to start a live act next year. I use my MPC1000 with a desktop synth module connected to Input Thru controlled by the MPC. What do you recommend should i buy a little mixer for my synth and the MPC? What if I just connect the MPC to the main input of the big stage mixer directly (while the synth is connected to the Input Thru)? Is it worth to use the inner EQ and Compressor if the MPC is connected to a big PA system? Any experiences doin' it live?
Thanks

when using a little mixer as a submixer just for your gear you have a little more control about levels, can eq differently for drums from the mpc and other sounds from your module. you can use insert effects if the mixer has this feature. and you can use all of the outs of your gear.
on the other hand if you are just beginning with live shows keep it as simple as possible - you will be nervous on stage no matter what and it is a good thing to have a setup you know inside and out. your setup is your tools, you must operate them while looking at the audience and thus a simple but functional gear gives you the security of being comfortable and easy while performing your arts.

don“t use cheap gear on live occasions - broken gear is not reliable. 8)

I just whack my 101 thru the input thru, works fine for my purposes, get it sounding right when you soundcheck then just leave it ...let the synthlines speak for themselves.

The reason for that is just less gear to carry about
