which is good, because you don't have to go spending extra cash on alien technology. cool, thanks for the info.

tin foil is temporary - worst comes to worst, the mpc1000 pads will never be completely broken if you can afford tin foil and tape!

couldent work with full level at a show....unless I wanna kill the person in the front with a SLAMING snare everytime I hit the pad. but in the studio I guess their is a work around with this tin foil and full level

wouldn't the obvious answer just be to put your snare in your pgm at less than 100 level so that it's not 100% every time? i usually used to work w/ full level on all the time - i saw it as a kind of automatic limiter. not ideal, but workable.

ANNOUNCEMENT - VELOSTAT WORKS

this stuff i just ordered does the trick. it's a very thin plastic. by creating a grid of thin vinyl overtop the sensor sheet and then a vinyl sandwich containing 16 squares of velostat, my pads are fully functional and stable--and best of all, they simply aren't going to break down.

performance is HUGELY boosted. every note registers at pressure appropriate, repeatable values, at the modest sensitivity level of 6 (from 1-16) and a velocity curve of A (from A-D).

this is fully customizeable and easily configured depending on finger used.

folks, my pads are better than ever.

cool man, im lazy and didnt go through the whole thread BUT. can we expect a step by step tutorial showing how to do this? oh yeah and i think i read that you had managed to fix your pads but they all hit at full level right? Dude, I would do anything to get my pads back.. i am making beats off 4-6 pads max.. my 1,2,3,5,6,7,9,10,13,14 pads are FUNKED. i have to put my whole boddy weight on them for a hit to register type deal... so yeah should I just wait till you explain your ultimate weapon or? thanks

hold on wes, the end is in sight. now that i have everything i am gonna create a step by step how to, or a put-together package which i will sell for 10 bones.

basically, people are going to have to order this velostat stuff, which costs 7 dollars (including shipping) as well as some sticky linoleum (another 5 dollars). getting all the materials together would end up costing more/being a longer wait.

what i'd be shipping is full directions, prefabbed materials (including extras), a "how to", and probably a copy of edge city just for kicks.

no matter what, unless someone actually ships me their mpc, there's gonna be a little DIY stuff that people will have to do. however, it will be really easy and well documented.
