Not sure if this has been posted yet, but Akai is doing a promotion for the MPC1000 where they are giving away free drum samples in their "Kit of the Week" deal. Cruise on in to http://www.akaipro.com and take a look at what they have to give away. Pretty good drum samples, IMHO.

Downloaded them last night, and although the pgm file didn't work (i didn't rename it as I was in a rush) the .wav are fine.

I'll try renaming the pgm file and let you know if it works, unless soemone has alreayd done this??

I have a Mac with the MPC PGM MAker so using those wavs to build a new pgm if the rename doesn't work, won't be a problem.

The samples sounded good to me......

Well, I renamed the pgm file from the Akai site, stuck it on a zip, and when i tried to load it into my 2KXL I get a 'Wrong Format' message so you can you the wav's but not the pgm.

No biggie - at least there are some nice samples :)

These sound are **** awesome... I saw this on the site a while ago, but never checked it out cause it said for the MPC 1000... I figured they were doin it as a promotional thing for people who owned the MPC 1000... Like you'd need to have a serial number or some shit to be able to download the shit... I'm glad I was wrong... Good Lookin son... oNe.
