I'm sure this has been asked a few million times but I just read the first 10 pages or threads in this section and I have a little bit of a headache, I apologize. My MPC 1000 should be on the way in few days. I have a room dedicated for a future studio. I was just wondering what I need.

I know I need the following:
(no need for the best stuff, i need to start somewhere)
-recording interface?
-Some kind of record player i can sample from (help me out here)
-Mic?
-microKorg?
-Cables To regular speakers, computer speakers, headphones. this is what im most clueless about

I just want to know if my head is in the right direction, been reading a lot here lately

if u only wanna sample it doesn't matter what u get, just get the cheapest u can find, if u wanna do some turntable action thats a different story.

its easy to figure out, it may seem intimidating if you never f*cked with any analog gear before, but its not difficult.

I'd say, you will see what you need IF you need it.

Just start out with your MPC, if you wanna make sample-based music, get a turntable to sample from. If you decide you wanna do your (or someone elses  ) own vocals, look for a decent mic. If you wanna mess around more with synth melodies and stuff some time, think about getting a small synth.

Your studio will grow as you will. I think that's the right approach.

you WILL, at the very least, need HEADPHONES. make sure you can plug them into the MPC1000, which uses a 1/4 inch headphone jack. a simple adapter may be all you need to use existing headphones (most of which have the little 1/8 inch mini plug). you can get this kinda sh*t at any 24/7 WalMart (or your local equivalent).

after that you probably need to head to a music store to get better quality cables, depending on your needs. read the home studio guides on the tweakz website to figure out what connects to what and how. look at using your existing equipment together first before wasting a lot of money on more gear you don't know how to use yet either....
