I just bought an mpc and now i want to hook it up to my midi controller so i could play some piano notes and have it record on the MPC sequencer, is this possible?
I'm wondering how do i go about doing this and what do i need to do it? I would really appreciate any replys..

The searching isn't that great, but the answer is yes, it works great. See the manual for the wiring (don't forget the Thru and Local settings to avoid duplicate notes).

Recording incoming MIDI to a sequence works every time, but you must set the sequencer Track to MIDI and specify the output & channel, before it will send that MIDI out correctly.

About playing back piano-type samples from the MPC sampler, using an external MIDI KB: see my page linked below, for some FAQs and a few "melodic" PGMs that use samples from other sources. NB: My site is temporarily down, (domain name probs, now fixed), give it a few hours..!

(You can tell this has been asked before, but no worries...!)
