Hi there.

Have modified some programs, a few times that is, and re-saved, complete with "replace samples". Now, the program won't load due to "Unknown file format". When i try to load the individual samples, it seems that the samples that has been overwritten doesn't work anymore...

I must say I'm a bit disappointed with AKAI so far. I thought the MPC:s were supposed to be rock solid in operation.

Fun machine to fiddle around with though... =)

read up on the new folder bug, too, since the solution to that one also gets rid of this problem. same thing happened on the 1k. there is a certain way you can save.

first - before starting a new project, create a couple new folders. 1, 2, and 3, maybe.

when done, save to 1.

when you load it again, DONT save over one. save in 2. and so on. delete old folders when you no longer need that draft. if you save over certain files (in my experience the prj file and .all file, but don't quote me, others have it happen to sample files too) you get DIRECTORY ERROR and file corruption issues.

watch out for that DIRECTORY ERROR. it's a sign that all is not right.

jj explained that the problem is in data allocation. the os is simply sloppy when saving. it's ok though, cuz you can work around it.
