i don't use 3.06 (or direct recording at all in 4.xx, yet) so i can't really say anything about that

but what's worse, a bad feature among a dozen good ones (jj) or a complete lack of said feature among three or four half assed ones?

also, updating an os on an mpc is nothing like a computer, i mean it takes 20 seconds tops

i know some people here who have been on 4.15 without updating since it came out, so it's not llike you got to run and update every time there's a new os

[quote="Antonym"]it's very clear when someone speaks with experience and without experience

edit - too harsh sounding, sorry.

no problem for me, how long are you jusing mpc(s)? what about the older mpcs, are they also sounding bad compared to 1000 with jj for you?

The updates are not bad at all. Even Akai has updates....... occasionally.

Either way, they are to your benefit in the long run. Just keep grinding on the MPC & you will soon see that as your skills & creativity increase, so will your appreciation for the JJ OS.

In the mean time button presser, try to think outside the box with the MPC 1k, read the manual and this forum, & over time, you will see what we have been saying about the JJ OS vs Akais OS.

2 months is not enough to scratch the surface with 2.1, let alone 4.x!

button - i've only been on my 1000 (first mpc) for just over 2 years. from then, i've seen it grow from akai os 1.07, which was only a basic waveform sequencer and incredibly limited TC synthesizer. from that to here, huge difference.

other mpcs have had bug issues as well, particularly the most recent. the 2000/xl is stable now, but according to various blogs for montsh after its release it was just as bad in different ways.

the 1000, 500 and 2500 have all had the same new folder bug problem and DIRECTORY ERROR saving messages.

i usually only update every 3 or 4 updates.. and all the major ones that introduce new features..

its funny.. i read around on here and look at bugs and stuff.. and honestly i have not had any complaints about the os.. any bug i've come across has been real minor..

bein in grid edit and editing is like still on 6 pad even though im on 16.. all you do is press the F key for 6 pad and then back to 16.. BIG DEAL... nothin has gotten in the way for me .. pretty amazing

anyways.. yeah.. even though there are updates all the time.. not a big deal at all
