sync and click question

hello forum


i just sold my mpc 2000 and got a 2500
besides all the great, new features i have some problems with the machine.
when i play to the mpc click and listen back to the auto quantized (1/16) track, it seems that there is a offset between the click and the drums samples.
on the mpc 2000 it was always in time.
i also have the feeling that there is a offset between the internal drum sounds and externally midi triggered devices ( synced with midiclock )

is there any setting for adjusting the 2 modes (drum and midi)
any others with this problem on 2500 ?

this is a problem with the akai OS versions 1.2, 1.21, and 1.22

i use OS1.1 because midi clock is tight using that. but for some reason after that the mpc started to run "earlier" than everything else and akai has still not managed to correct this problem.

i haven't tried it but the JJ OS might not have this problem

AKAI PLEASE FIX THIS. SYNCING TO PROTOOLS (or anything else) USING MIDI CLOCK IS PRETTY BASIC.

uhhh this is ugly, i gonna write to akai now.
maybe other mpc users could complain as well.
what is the JJ os ?

the support wrote me that i should install the latest os to fix the sync problem.

latest os was installed (1.22)

so it seems that akai has a blurry definition of the word tightness

the JJ OS is a third party OS. it has it's own forum here.

that's disturbing that akai doesn't even realize that their machine doesn't sync correctly

yes indeed, i explained it to them in all details and the guy said that hes gonna forward it to the developers team.

it would be nice if other users with the same problem would describe it in their words to akai.

i have the same problem - reported it but never got an answer - i'm back on os 1.1 now but very dissapointed of Akai...

yeah if they'd just do an update and fix this one problem we'd all be able to use all the new features. wack.
