I just bought a Korg Micro X and I just got it hooked up to my MPC2000 Classic .. I have been using it for basslines all weekend and dident have any problems.. but them I wanted to throw some strings over the bassline but every time I change the program on the micro X I loose by bassline. The keyboard is set to MIDI channel 1 and I have the MPC set to record Track 01 MIDI:1A and I thought I might need to set the next track to 2A but it still changes the bassline when I change the leyboard preset.. Im sure im doing something wrong. Can any one enlighten me.. Thanks people.

ok .. i figured it out .. i actually found a post on korgs forums about this. You have to be in "multi" mode and set up your 16 tracks from there.

So

Korg micro X
Track01 = hiphop kit
Track02 = synthbass
etc...

MPC
MIDI=1A will be hiphop kit
MIDI=2A will be synth bass
etc..

Hope this helps others
