Is MPC suitable for techno/house music?

I know MPC is famous in hip-hip scene, just want to ask is it good to produce some techno/house music?

I am always wondering if an extra sythn is needed to do those music... am I right?

The MPC is good for any kind of Music, so Yeah you can do Techno/House whatever.
A Synth or 2 would be good as well, and a DAW or MTR (so you can track out all the sounds to mix them).

For techno/trance, if your using samples like eric prydz - call on me (wihch used sample), its pretty good for the raw beat: sample + drums. But for other instruments I would go with dope software, but thats just my opinion.

IMO what im using the 2000xl, you can basically do it all.
I mean with techno or house just lay down a 4 to the floor beat and speed up the tempo...find some good synth one shots, some synth bass notes mess around with 16 levels and the note repeat function and you can come up with some killer sh*t.
LOL people think im rockin some expensive kind of synth or something when they hear some of my beats, but its nothing but samples off of records and some good sequencing tricks.

also the auto-chromatic assignment function and the voice overlap:note off features, are incredible...these features make the MPC even more like a synth.

only thing missing that a synth would have, is a pitch modulation wheel.
But really you can ways around that.

I agree...an MPC can do it all but... I'd rather use something like a korg electribe. I plan on doin some DnB in the future and the real-time effects add alot to the drums. You can do the same with an MPC but you'll need outside gear.

one of the most used sound effects in techno/house music are cutoff/resonance sweeps and they are best done if you can use two knobs at a time like on a tb 303 or something alike... on the mpc 2500 and 4000 you can use the qlink knobs to accieve something similar...
maybe think of adding an analog or an virtuellanalog synth to your setup or use something like a sherman filterbank...

other than that a mpc is able to produce nearly all kinds of music - just think that it plays what sounds YOU throw at it, there are no factory sounds inside...
